"Cœlum" was my submission for the Muuto Design Contest 001, born from the idea of introducing a more grounded, substantial presence within Muuto’s airy, lightweight collection. I wanted to create a piece that balanced solid mass with the brand’s modern, refined aesthetic, using ceramic as the key material to embrace organic imperfections and hand-crafted uniqueness.
While the project wasn’t selected, it was an invaluable opportunity to refine my approach to materials, textures, and form. The exploration of layered visual effects, gradient glazing, and intentional surface irregularities pushed me to think deeper about how craftsmanship and innovation coexist. This process not only shaped the design but also reinforced my vision of creating objects that feel both sculptural and functional.
